Being an artist is such an inspiring and educational journey through a chaotic life. I always find something intriguing that suddenly catches my eye. It may be the way limbs of an oak tree twist and turn and the shadow patterns they create on the ground below, the distant view of purple mountains, the way the brilliant yellow sun back lights the fluffy white clouds in a cobalt blue sky, the moon beams glistening on the softly rippling water or a landscape composition with splotches of vibrant reds, yellows and oranges. These are my take time to stop and smell the roses moments. My oil paintings reflect this in a representational or sometimes a surreal but always in a calming manner.
